How You Can Help
ShortStop is funded ONLY for housing and case management for residents.
Local area resources are accessed for things like food or blankets.
Activities, art supplies, or household amenities are mostly funded
through donations from other local organizations and individuals. Do you or your business have the means
to be of financial assistance? Is there somewhere you could hold a fundraising drive in our name?
Is there something else you can do to help? Please consider the following:
Donate to ShortStop!
Are you, your organization, or someone you know able to support us
financially or with donations? Everything is helpful from gift
certificates to stores to movies and bus passes to mini-fridges and hampers.
These type of items are not funded for our residents and we work hard
to gather what we can&emdash;can you help? Of course, in addition, monetary
donations are always helpful and appreciated.

Please call 617.776.3377 if you have something you have to donate. If you would like to run a drive
please let us know and we can let you know what is most useful at that
time. We appreciate any help you can give!
Here are some other ways you can help:
Partner with ShortStop!
Are you part of a local organization that we can partner with?
Does your company or agency have a need we can fill. Could you call on
our residents when you had an open job position or some extra maintenance
that needs completed. Can your company or organization provide a service
our clients can utilize?
Volunteer at ShortStop!
As an individual do you have time or talent to give.
Our residents are lacking many basic skills and outside
voices are always appreciated. Do you have an hour a month
you could donate to coming in to cook, sew, exercise, or
interact in another way with residents. Could you volunteer
some time to drive residents to appointments?
ShortStop collaborates with you!
In addition, how can we be more of a part of your organization,
agency, or company. What can we do for you. We have many able-bodied,
enthusiastic youth who are an important part of this community.
They shop in local stores, utilize local transportation, and make
use of local recreation resources. Please communicate with us about
any collaboration efforts. The community of Somerville is good
to us and we want to give back!
